Hi, I am Gabriela.
I am a freelance photographer born in Mexico city raised in Sacramento, California since the age of three. Growing up in a very artistic talented hard working family I grew up with my parents introducing me into a very universal world of fashion, art, music and photography.
My mom worked with a photographer in Mexico City were I had a chance to watch my mom in action and get to see the world of photography from developing to even seeing the process of curating a photo shot. While growing up in the states my mom always had a camera no matter what it was always in her purse and she always made sure she had extra batteries and 35mm film we were still in the times of developing pictures.
I would go to the goodwill store with my mom and look for old cameras that we would end up buying and giving them to one of my uncles that later down the years introduced me to the world of black and white portraits, were he had his set up to develop the 35mm film in his garage. I was always my mom or my uncles muse to taking pictures I remember disliking to be the one in front of the camera and saying "cheese" flash forward one of my really good friends Zina Austin launched her photography. in 2011 she did a photo shot for me as I started my fitness journey I stepped out of my comfort zone from that feeling of disliking to be in front of the camera but over the years she did all my family photo's and profile portraits that lead me into watching her grow in her craft and being inspired to the days of watching my mom in her craft.
The feeling of making others smile and making women feel good in their own skin but also being creative to curating photo shots in the sense of allowing a photo to become the poetry with out words and capturing moments of art that become everlasting. It is my mission for me in building a catalog of portrait that will end up in the living room for others to be memorized with the essence to tell a story behind each image.
"The memories captured behind the eye of a lens are the forever moments we want."
